SHAVING FAQs

The oils that you use to create a soap, impact how it works. Our washing soaps balance cleansing, and conditioning properties to was well but leave you feeling great.

Shaving soaps are more balanced to create a stable lather which protects and cushions your skin from the blade, and conditioning / hydrating oils to help your skin. It won't clean well.

We use Cupuacu, Mango, Shea and Kokum Butter, along with Castor, Jojoba, Babassu oil. We also add some kaolin clay, glycerin and our signature essential oils.

We use a mix of lyes (potassium and sodium hydroxide) to create a shaving soap that is mallable to the touch, but long lasting.

There is no lye left in the end product.

The shaving soap should last at least 6 months if used every day. Probably close to a year. If you ever finish one, let me know :)

There are a few ways people use shaving soap.

My preferred method:

TIP: Before starting, fill bowl with hot water and soak your shaving brush in it while having your shower, then empty and build the lather. Personally I think it works better with a warm bowl and brush.

Scoop a little shaving soap and squish into the bottom of our grooved shaving bowl. A small coin sized amount of soap is all you need.

Work the brush in the bowl, building a stable thick lather, adding small amounts of water as needed.

Other ways to use the soap:

Some people like to load the brush with soap directly in the shaving soap container. To do this, simply run a wet shaving brush around 10 times around the top of the soap. Then proceed to build a lather either in a bowl, or directly on face.

No. The EDP are a mix of essential oils and alcohol - think perfume.

The aftershave recovery splash is designed to help your skin recover after shaving. It also features our signature essential oils and will leave a lasting personal scent behind.

The splash features Aloe Vera Juice, Witch Hazel and Chamomile Hydrosol. It also includes Meadowfoam and Green Coffee Oil which are great for skin recovery. And our signature essential oils. It also includes vitamin E oil, polysorbate 20 (which is a synthetic emulsifier to help oil and water mix) and a preservative - optiphen plus.

Please give the bottle a good shake before using it.

Post shave, simply give the bottle a good shake to ensure oil and water are mixed. Then splash required amount into the palm of your hand and apply to face, home alone style.

It wont burn though!

The are 100ml. I think you will get about 3 months of daily usage from each bottle, but of course it will depend how much you use each time..

I recommend you google this, and watch a you tube video or two. There are a tonne of great shaving resources.

But basically, load the blade into the razor. And shave as normal. Don't be intimidated by it.

Use long clean strokes as you would a normal razor.

Don't tap it on the side of the sink to clear the hair, rather loosen the blade and rinse, then tighten it again.

One blade, should give you multiple shaves depending on coarseness of hair, and frequency of passes. Some people like to shave twice, or three times in different directions to get the smoothest possible shave.

I personally change blade after 2-3 shaves. They aren't expensive, and I prefer a sharp blade.

Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, I bought pretty much ever razor and brush on the market. Tried them all, and then chose my favourites for you.

Both razor brands and blades are made in Germany. And the brushes are synthetic fibre, made on the Isle of Mann.

Assuming feedback is positive on these products, our plan is to expand the line to all main scents and limited editions slowly over time.

We hope to launch a beard oil and butter later this year.
