You know exactly what's in it.

"Fragrance" can legally hide up to 3,163 individual chemicals... no further disclosure required. Every ingredient in The Black Stuff has a name, an origin, and a reason for being there.

The two biggest ingredients are Spanish Olive Oil and African Shea Butter; together more than half of every bar. The scent is pure essential oils, not synthetic fragrance blends. What you'll never find: SLS, SLES, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, triclosan, PEGs, or artificial dyes.

Not outsourced. Not scaled. John started in his home in January 2021 making batches of 54, by hand. The batch size is exactly the same today.

We cure every bar for weeks before it ships. Industrial production can't afford to. Curing draws out moisture, hardens the bar, and concentrates the oils the result is a bar that lasts considerably longer. The workshop at 67F Heather Road, Sandyford, Dublin is open weekdays.

04 Not the natural deodorant you're thinking of

The deodorant actually works. 12+ hours.

Most natural deodorants are formulated to sound good. Ours is built around magnesium hydroxide (think milk of magnesia). It neutralises the bacteria that cause odour rather than just blocking sweat. No aluminium. No synthetic fragrance.
